Stars of ABC’s The Bachelor Welcome a New Addition

While it seems that so many couples who get together on ABC’s hit show The Bachelor tend to separate before the finale even airs, there are a few lovely couples that have managed to stay together and create a family of their very own. Sean and Catherine Giudici Lowe from the show’s 17th season have welcomed a beautiful baby boy.  Samuel Thomas Lowe was born on Saturday July 2nd and the couple was over the moon with happiness.

Catherine tweeted on Saturday evening “I’m in love with another boy, my son Samuel Thomas Lowe.” And Sean followed by tweeting “God is good! We had a healthy baby boy named Samuel Thomas. Thank you everyone for your prayers and support!”

The couple debuted their little bundle of joy to the world via Instagram with a photo captioned “Samuel Thomas, I think I’m in love”. The 30-year old new mom shared a picture of her cradling her little boy while sitting in a hospital bed, enjoying some bonding time together.

Sean, age 32, later sent a picture of himself holding Samuel in his arms captioned “My boy and me.”

At the time of their baby shower this past May, Catherine and Sean had not revealed the sex of their baby though they told reporters that they had settled on a boy’s name and they “think it’s a boy.” Sean was secretly hoping for a boy and had previously told People magazine that “I can’t wait to throw the ball around in the backyard. I look forward to that father-son bonding. I can definitely play with a daughter too!”

Prior to the birth of Samuel, Catherine sent out a teaser tweet to her followers that mimicked the line from The Lion King simply stating “It is time.”

All throughout her pregnancy the couple proudly documented Catherine’s pregnancy on social media. They shared a photo of her sonogram in February, letting everyone know that the baby was perfectly healthy.

The Beginning of Sean & Catherine’s Love Story

The pair fell in love when Sean picked Catherine and presented her with the final rose on the season 17 finale of The Bachelor which aired on ABC in 2013. The couple then got married the following year with a fairy tale style ceremony that was televised for the show and aired live on ABC in January 2014. Their wedding ceremony was performed by Sean’s father, Jay. They announced their pregnancy on Instagram in December of last year. Sean and Catherine are one of four of the couples who met on The Bachelor that have gotten married. Now their little family has expanded with the birth of their first son.

Getting Prepared for the New Arrival

The couple who currently reside in Dallas enjoyed some time away before becoming parents with a babymoon in beautiful Palm Springs, California. The couple had spent a memorable weekend there before after their season of The Bachelor had finished airing but before the finale had aired on TV.

Before their visit to Palm Springs, Sean wrote on his blog “To this day we still talk about how much fun we had just hanging out at that house. Swimming, grilling and watching movies.” He stated prior to the babymoon in April. “So next week, we’re going to try and recapture those memories and make some new ones too.”

That same month the couple did an interview with Us Weekly and talked about getting prepared to be new parents. “He is the most wonderful and loving daddy to our doggies and I know it will be exponentially better when it’s our own child.” Catherine said at the time.

Sean added “I am most looking forward to the challenge of being as good of a father as my dad was, and still is, to me. Over the years, my dad has proven time and time again that he will support me and be there for me no matter what…That’s what I want to give my child as well. I want them to know that their dad will always be their biggest supporter.”

On Thursday before heading to the hospital Catherine posted a side-by-side Instagram picture of her growing baby bump with the caption “BREAKING NEWS: I’m still pregnant.” It was obvious that the reality TV star was beyond ready to have the baby, but she did make an adorable mom-to-be as you can see if you follow her Instagram account. She and Sean both chronicled her entire pregnancy with amazing pics that they can look back on now that their son is finally here.
